Hot Rolled H Sections

1. Brief

On completion of construction, the Hot H Section Plant of Masteel was put into operation in September of 1998,Built with the technology and equipment imported form DEMAG, SIEMENS (Germany) and ITAM (USA), up to 90‘―s world advanced technical level, the plant is the first production line of H sections in China. The plant can now organize production in accordance with China national standards, producing H sections with webs of 200-800 mm high and sheet piles, but also can provide the products to the Japanese, British and American standards.

From the time the plant began its production, its products have been widely used in various fields such as civil building, mechanical manufacture, petroleum power generation, communication, etc. and also used in may large or small projects like China Century Monument in Beijing, Xiamen Exhibition Center (Xiamen City), Aomen City Sovereignty Hand-over Ceremony Hall, Guangzhou Yajisha Bridge, for manufacturing new vehicles used in Railway Engineering Ministry, petroleum prospecting platform at Bohai Sea, Dayawang Nuclear Energy Power Generation Station, etc. Moreover its products have successfully found the markets in America and Canada. The products of the plants have been accredited by ISO9002-2000 first, later by German Lloyd‘―s Register of Shipping and won the title of newly-developed product in China.

Characteristics of H Sections

Wide flange, high rigidity, and high bending resistance.

With wide flanges and parallel surfaced, it is easy for mechanical processing and installation, make connection of steel structure much easier.

Actually, substitution of H section rolling for welding process can save production cost by about 30%.

With a same sectional load bearing capacity, the weight of the steel structure made with H sections can be reduced by 15-30%.

Depending on its different application in bearing loads, the H sections can be approximately classified in three series products namely H beams H columns and H piles.
